Big companies go first. You're next.

The Ministry of Finance is rolling this out in phases. Large businesses had to appoint their provider by 30 October 2026, so now the focus shifts to everyone else.

Likely out of scope for now

B2C sales are currently excluded.

If you only sell to consumers, the mandate doesn't catch you yet. That changes the moment you start invoicing a business, so keep an eye on it. Happy to double-check your setup.

Not in scope right now

The mandate applies to VAT-registered businesses.

But if you're getting close to the AED 375,000 VAT threshold, you'll be in scope once you register. Worth planning both together.

No more PDF invoices for B2B.

Your invoices become structured data that travels through an approved network and gets reported to the FTA. Here's what that means day to day.

1

You need an ASP

Every in-scope business, whether sending or receiving invoices, must appoint a Ministry-accredited service provider to exchange e-invoices.

2

Invoices become data

The UAE system runs on the Peppol standard. PDFs and emailed invoices won't count for B2B and B2G sales any more.

3

The FTA sees it as you go

Invoice data is reported to the tax authority as you invoice, so your VAT records need to be clean all the time, not just at return time.

4

Your data has to be right

Customer TRNs, item descriptions and tax treatments need to be correct at source. Messy master data means rejected invoices.

5

Your software matters

Cloud accounting tools will connect to ASPs fairly easily. Spreadsheets and Word invoices won't.

6

Credit notes too

It's not just invoices. Credit notes go through the same system, with the same rules.

Leaving it late costs money. Under Cabinet Decision No. 106 of 2025, failing to adopt the system and appoint an ASP on time can cost AED 5,000 per month, with further penalties for invoices that aren't issued or reported correctly.

We do the prep. You keep running the business.

We're not an ASP, and that's the point. We're independent, so we'll help you pick the provider that fits your size, software and budget rather than the one we're selling.
